Adobe Flash and beyond…

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Flash is now a MUST for programmers, gone are the days that Flash is
just a vector animation tool. You’d be surprised how powerful Adobe
Flash is.

These are some of the major features I can say and have discovered recently:
1.) CSS can format a Flash layout (an external CSS file can format Flash content)
2.) PHP/MySQL integration
3.) XML/RSS reader and using CSS to format the RSS feed.

Here’s a video of my professor having a “free” seminar.

His name is Brendan Sera-Shriar…he has published several books and
is one of the best teachers around. All it takes is Adobe Flash, a
bottle of beer and a few laughs and you’re good to go in the industry.
>:E

Here’s one of the projects he did for Seneca@York (Ontario, Canada) just to benefit the students.

One of his companies that he runs.

So to all techies out there…you’d better start learning Flash or else…you’re gonna be blown away by the competition.

Nostalgia

I’ve tried to look for the revivals for this song but I’m pretty sure they can’t compare to the original sounds of Hotdog. Man how I wish I could visit Manila again…I’m pretty home-sick but it’ll come to pass…and hopefully some day return back to Manila.

Song Title: Manila
Original Song by: Hotdog

Maraming beses na kitang nilayasan (A lot of times I’ve left you)
Iniwanan at ibang pinuntahan (Left you and went to some other place)
Parang babaeng mahirap talagang malimutan (Like a woman that’s hard to forget)
Ikaw lamang and aking laging binabalikan (You’re the only one I go back to)

Manila, Manila
I keep coming back to Manila
Simply No Place like Manila,
Manila I’m coming home

I walked the streets of San-Francisco
I’ve tried the rides in Disney Land
Dated a million girls in Sydney
But somehow I feel like I don’t belong

Hinahanap hanap kita Manila (I’m longing/looking for you Manila)
Ang ingay mo’y kay sarap sa taenga (Your noise is good my ears)
Mga jeepney mong nagliliparan (Your "Jeepneys" that fly)
Mga babae mong nag gagandahan (The beautiful women all around you)

Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you’ll never let go
Promise me you’ll never let go

Manila, Manila
I keep coming back to Manila
Simply no place like Manila
Manila I’m coming home

Hinahanap hanap kita Manila (I’m longing/looking for you Manila)
Ang ingay mo’y kay sarap sa taenga (Your noise is good my ears)
Mga jeepney mong nagliliparan (Your "Jeepneys" that fly)
Mga babae mong nag gagandahan (The beautiful women all around you)

Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you’ll never let go
Promise me you’ll never let go

Manila, Manila
Miss you like hell, Manila
No place in the world like Manila
I’m coming home to stay.

Awww…this song brings back memories…a lot of memories…and I mean 25 years of memories coming back all at the same time…damn I really miss Manila.

CANADIAN TORPE!!! FTW!!! XD for the people who don’t know "Tagalog" its a term used for boys who are shy and don’t have the confidence to approach women they like. Nuff’ said…yes I am "technically" a Canadian-Immigrant Torpe…hopefully in 2 more years…full fledged Canadian Torpe.

Lucky Star: Farewell or TBA?

The series has come to an end or so I think it is. Lucky Star is the
story of several high school girls in Japan living their daily lives.
It’s like Azumanga Daioh but more on the Otaku side of things and the
anime culture that affects their daily lives. People who know, Keroro
Gunsou, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Dragon Ball, Air, To Heart, Gundam,
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu and much much more will be able to enjoy this
series as the characters from these anime make a cameo appearance and
their songs are used in the karaoke box.

This series spans 24 episodes or so I think and there has not been
one episode that I did not laugh. I sometimes can’t get their jokes and
puns because its too deep and I I had to rewind and carefully read the
subtitles. It’s otaku culture on a more acceptable note.

Another part of this is the famous “Lucky Channel” segment of an
Idol named Kogami Akira and an incoming male seiyuu Minoru Shiraishi
(IDOL!!!!). They talk about lots of stuff about the series and anime in
general. But for the most part fighting like cats and dogs and how
Kogami isn’t shown on the main series. LOL.

If you’re as perverted as me you’ll notice a lot of hentai-ish puns
with just the Japanese language. Like “chin-XXXX” and “DORILU” but in
moderation. XD

I’d give it a 8/10, why the low score? Well if the puns weren’t so
hard to understand I’d give it a 9/10 and still lower than perfect
since the anime lacks in support and has rode the wave of the Suzumiya
fame by girls dancing on the opening credits. I recommend this anime fi
you want that “SABAW” factor in your daily life. When you feel
down…just think Lucky! Lucky Me! LUCKY STAR!

P.S.
Props to Nipponsei for releasing samples of the Sountracks. Now I gotta order mine online. XD

Mo-fck-Monday

Yes, it is a Monday once again here in Canada.

Once again I am in the midst of a battle against time…but then again…is time real? Time is a man-made device to control the moving of an object and change. Time is only logical and thus is intangible. This is a form of control that man has created by himself and thus it is a man-made "logical" theory. These words are the remnants of an idea given to me by a good peer of mine from the college…more like a therapist…but more of a peer.

Ah life…I used to say I was lazy as fuck but now…looking back at it…its more like apathy according to my peer. And yes…it seems so now that I know of the proper definition to it. Actually it is as proven by my memories of yesteryear.

Being a spoiled brat is true, but to an extent I have taken it upon myself to rid myself of this for so long that I am gradually seeing a major change in my lifestyle and I have been looking at myself in the mirror lately and seeing all the changes. Before I came here(Canada) I was still that lil’ol semi-spoiled brat. Now…interestingly I changed and up until now I’m changing. Damn I’m good. XD

I have more stuff to write about by I have to retire to my sheets, curiously enough I forgot if I slept when I woke up…I’m serious…I’m not sure if I did sleep or not!!! Damn…anyway so yeah…I’ll be posting more when I get the chance…I feel like hugging a Hello Kitty plushie. *wink*

TGIFF!!! (Thank God Its Fucking Friday!!!)

*Bloggers Log - Terra Date 009-014-002007: 1243hrs*

As some people know, I’ve been in a slump lately, but that didn’t seem to be the case. I produced fairly good and acceptable designs, my learning curve for things was slowly going on a steady and controllable rise and my general outlook for life changed.

I’ve been pissed-off lately about the things that have been happening in my life, bad company (house), bad memories and overall just plain bad things.

I dunno why but for some reason I tried to look up an ex-gf on the net, I tried so hard to "stalk" her and then after not finding any information about her…I stopped. The reason I stopped was that I questioned what I was doing? I wasn’t sad, mad or anything I was just plain curious. Weird eh? Anyway so yeah I stopped looking for her and for some reason I felt good. I wasn’t as irritated by the atmosphere in the house, on the bus, on the subway, at school. I normally would be pissed off at everyone that I didn’t know but for some reason today was a good day. I expected to have more sleep but that was beside the point.

Anyway I’m still in a good mood after this…finding my ex-gf might not be the reason. I guess my therapy is working even thought it only has been one day that I met up with my therapist who was giving my a crash course in life. XD

Anyway…I’m going to meet with my therapist later today and there’s still a few more things we still have to discuss, hopefully I get to show my good side and generally feel better than I was feeling a few hours ago. So to sum this half-day whole up…life is looking pretty good.

Supplemental posts to follow by the end of the day.

My life in a nutshell

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Emmanuel Vistro was born on the 11th of November 1981 in Quezon City,
Metro Manila Philippines. He graduated in 1995 from elementary and
proceeded to continue his high school studies at the University of
Saint Tomas (University of Sto. Tomas) high school. (USTHS) At this
time he acquired his first IBM Compatible Personal Computer as a gift
for graduating from elementary.

During his 2 year stay, he was
kicked out of USTHS due to his rebellious attitude and non-Catholic
views in 1997. He was re-enrolled in another Catholic based high school
where he was again kicked out due to rebellious activities and punching
the principal for cutting his hair in 1998.

During the same year
he took an Advanced Placement Test from the Department of Higher
Education where he passed the high school level and could continue on
to college without any credentials from high school. He skipped one
whole year of high school and was ready for college. During his free
time until the next batch of college entries were accepted, he started
to learn HTML scripting and went on to do small jobs for small
companies.

He was deciding to return to UST for his college
education and start fresh in the realm of Fine Arts. During that time
he had upgraded from his first computer by working on several small
jobs to an Intel Celeron 400 Mhz. His computer enthusiasm led him to
another college and another line of work which was Computer Programming.

Emmanuel
also called Em or Eman during this time enrolled in one of Asias First
and Largest Computer College, AMA Computer College. He left his passion
of art and opted for a profitable career during this time. He stayed
for 6 years in a 3 year course due to constantly failing college
mathematics with the likes of Discreet Mathematics and Assembly
Language Programming. He published the first PC game ever developed in
a college in 2003. Then in April of 2006 he moved to Canada to pursue
greater opportunities and left the programming world.

In
September of 2006 he enrolled in the School of Communication Arts,
Digital Media Arts at Seneca@York. He successfully passed the
examinations and proceeded to return to college in January of 2007
after missing the first week of classes.

In April of 2007 he and
several of his good friends from Seneca@York started a creative
collective called Provoke Digital Media Solutions. He now looks to
Craig’s List Toronto to fund his daily living. He is now called “Manny”
buy all his Canadian peers and lives with this Mother, Father and
Sister who sponsored him to migrate to Canada.
